Global Philanthropy Research: a collaborative International Study
The development of this study was truly a global collaborative effort, and its ultimate value derives from the contributions of many individuals and institutions. A remarkable group of global research collaborators contributed to the study's framework and design, and spearheaded national level research.
These 20 research teams are the cornerstone of the research initiative, and the study team at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) is deeply grateful for their myriad contributions. Alternativas y Capacidades A.C. was a local collaborator in this research, contributing the Mexican perspective and context to this comprehensive global analysis.
This international collaborative research represents an important effort to understand philanthropic practices, trends and challenges across different regions and contexts. By bringing together researchers from diverse countries, the study offers comparative insights that can inform both academic understanding and practical strategies for strengthening philanthropy worldwide.
The participation of Alternativas y Capacidades allowed the research to incorporate the particularities of the Mexican philanthropic ecosystem, its institutional framework, challenges and opportunities, contributing to a more complete and nuanced global picture of how philanthropy operates and its potential for social impact across different cultural and regulatory contexts.
